Super Grand Esprit, Sagitta XC and Aquilla XC are one of the greats when I was learning to fly, it’s great to be able to build these rare models.

Building the Oldies!

Our local flying field, plenty of room to fly models. It’s owned privately and has a full size aircraft landing strip.

Our Flying Field

A few mates and myself have decided on a group build. Design by Louis Kulicka

Cheap servos!

Have to love cheap servos, but for specific purposes. Spoiler control only for these, no way would i use them in any critical areas.

Super GE Arrived!

Do a little dance,  It’s here. Thanks the Greg who has put in the time to lazer cut this beast for me and sourcing the carbon tube for it. Those new to the game, the Esprit range is the cats pajamas of the RES 80/90’s period. The all built wing frames and fuselages represented the talent of not only flying but building these magnificent gliders.   The Super GE is the biggest of them all, with a span of 4.2m,…

Inspira Fuse Section

Slowly coming together, being such a large model i’ve run carbon tow from nose to mid point, also thinking of running a couple of lengths to give it impact strength. Pic #3 is the AndREas fuse for size comparison. .

Inspira Fuse Former’s

3mm ply for the former’s, its seems a little light, but with a model this size, we are looking at close to 5kg AUW.  I’m planning to add some support using carbon tow and I’ll do the same up the sides of the fuselage.

Rudder post and rudder

Have over made this a bit, so its going to be a tad heavy. This ship will be my replacement for the Stepp Up. I’ve use really light ply on the rudder end to stop the bumps and dents from transport.

ASH26 – By John Copeland

Another lovely example of the ASH26. I’ll get a few more images online, but works in progress. The ASW27 is my guinea pig before going much further on this. All Fiberglass fuselage, elevator and rudder. Wings will be foam core, fiberglassed and then sheeted with ply. At this stage the retract is fitted and the wheel well is cut. A few pics of Johns build below until I can get some time to take some photos.

Scale LS8

Another one that has been collecting a bit of dust, but a bit more time now means I can finish it off. Being a chinese model, the quality is not there, but for the amount of money you can’t really argue. Elevator, rudder, aileron, flap, spoiler and retract mean a fair bit of electrics. Not my image.
