I always have difficulty in finding the right firewall/mount for some of my planes particularly if the model is of balsa/ply construction as there is usually always a small amount of size difference.
Did a small amount of homework with this carbon fiber PLA, which seems to have about 20% fill of carbon in the filament.
Using F360, I just sat down and designed a mount with the measurements from the model.
Using a test print to smack with a hammer simulating a front nose in, it stood up to the bashing.
So, this is print 3 in the pictures. Work nicely, but, I still want to polish the mount. I’ll re-design it so that it follows the curvature of the model and this mount for the hacker has the recess for the screws. (in the background 3D printed servos trays too)
