Super Grand Esprit, Sagitta XC and Aquilla XC are one of the greats when I was learning to fly, it’s great to be able to build these rare models.

Building the Oldies!

Our local flying field, plenty of room to fly models. It’s owned privately and has a full size aircraft landing strip.

A few mates and myself have decided on a group build. Design by Louis Kulicka

Plans for the G6S-5

Plans for this G6S-5 are on their way from the UK, Have never heard of it before, so it will be interesting to have a look at the plans to see if worth building. Plans say 120″ that on route, from the downloaded plans from Outerzone it has a very different flap deployment system too. Might to have a dig around RCGroups They arrrived, wow!

Sunday Flying 06/01/19

Had an awesome morning, it was really blowing and I was a little worried about putting up the Graphite, didn’t want to break such an awesome machine. But it didn’t bork, flew like it was on rails, such a great plane. Thanks to Mick and Steph for helping launch and hold the bungee peg in, I think we almost ripped it out  a few times.

White strobes

The A-10 comes with red and green nav lights, but i thought they are a bit weak and at a distance not visible. I grabbed a couple from flytron. I’ll post a vid of them running later on.

Not a sailplane

Ok, so it’s not a sailplane, but a bargain too good to miss. FMS A-10 hardly flown, so grabbed it and i’m slowly putting some realistic features to it. Have painted the gear struts white, will also make the canopy open and close on a channel. It may take some time to do between the gliders.

Original Sagitta 900 kit

Thanks to my good mate Ian, another kit I’ve always wanted to get my mits on. After I finish off a few projects we will get this one onto the building board. The tail bits in the pic are form a Ricochet, another project for a later stage.

Falcon

Falcon arrived, this will be my windy day beastie. With some of the good flying days being 25+ knots this should be perfect.

Inside fuse

Had my first go at resin finishing a balsa fuselage, hmm 90% happy with it. The drying on the top section wrinkled up a bit, so by the time I seen it, it was dry. Some elbow grease and time made it smooth-ish. As you can see on the image, it isn’t perfect.
